Share your machine with your customers
Whoever types the pairing code shown on the screen gets shared access to that machine — and sees only their own sites. The owner sees who has access and can revoke it at any time.
A machine rarely stays with the same contractor for a whole year. It gets rented out, it works a month for a subcontractor, and then it is somewhere else. Until now a machine belonged to one account: whoever had paired it kept it, and the next one was told “this device is already paired with another customer”.
How it works now
- The customer types the pairing code shown on the screen of the tablet or field computer. If that machine already belongs to another account, they get shared access instead of a refusal.
- Before confirming, they see who owns the device.
- The machine then sits in their list labelled “shared”. They send sites to it just like to their own machines.
What a shared customer does and does not see
They only see the sites they placed on that machine themselves. The owner’s sites and those of other customers stay invisible, and they cannot fetch, rename or delete them. If they send a site with the same name as someone else’s, it is refused with a request for another name — so nobody overwrites work they cannot even see.
What the owner sees
The device settings show “shared with”, with name, e-mail address and since when. Revoking happens there, with two taps. Press “new pairing code” on the device itself and all shared access lapses at once — that is the tool for when a machine changes hands.
Why it works this way
The tablet app and the machines themselves cost nothing. Whoever converts and sends to the site has a subscription. So a rental company can open up its fleet without every customer having to arrange something first, and every customer can get to work straight away.
